BARCA SLIP

Last week Barcelona suffered a shocking defeat against Valencia and Real Madrid lost the chance to get to the top of the Spanish league as they could only manage to draw against Athletic Bilbao but the real drawback that Real Madrid suffered was when Cristiano Ronaldo received a red card and was sent off of the pitch.

The referee that showed the red card to the Portuguese star of Real Madrid, Miguel Angel Ayza Gamez has now been dropped for a month and the referee will not be appointed to any of Real Madrid matches of this season.

When the match concluded, Real Madrid tried to appeal the decision that the referee made but it was denied by the Spanish football association and he will be missing out from the next 3 matches of his club which includes going against: Getafe, Elche and Villareal.

It will be a big blow not only for Real Madrid who will have to cope without having their star player but C.Ronaldo’s season has seen him scoring 22 goals in 21 appearances in the Spanish League, there is no doubt that he wants to finish the current season by being the top goal-scorer and this absence of matches will allow other players to catch up to him.

Even though C.Ronaldo will be unavailable for selection, this will give the chance for other players to make their presence felt and step it up. Isco has missed out from a few of the last matches of Real Madrid and this is a chance he needs to prove he is talented enough to be part of Ancelotti’s XI.

Jese Rodriguez has been making impressive performances in the few matches for the Spanish titans and with a slot open in the starting lineup; the young forward can get this opportunity to continue showcasing his capabilities.
