Ronaldo Scores in Victory

Cristiano Ronaldo and his former Manchester United team-mate Nani secured the points for Portugal in their crucial match against Denmark in the European championship qualifiers.

In the first match for new coach Paulo Bento, Portugal scored three times, with nani getting the first two ahead of a Carvalho own goal, which put the game back on a knife-edge. Ronaldo secured the victory with just minutes to go to the whistle, to net Portugal some much needed points.

“I missed scoring,” Ronaldo said after the game, according to A Bola. “The team played well and deserved to win. We are all to be congratulated.

“Paulo Bento is the same coach with the same personality and character that I met at Sporting. Nothing has changed. The players are happy and it shows on the field.”
