Ronaldo wants his 7 back

Cristiano Ronaldo is bored of being CR9, and wants to go back to being CR7 (and we're not complaining!)

With Raul departing for pastures new, the number 7 shirt, which Ronaldo made his own at Manchester United, has become free. Ronaldo took the shirt at United as a young 17 year old, and promptly lived up to the expectations of the shirt - winning the World Player of the Year in it, as well as the Premier League and Champions League titles.

"I would like to have the No.7 shirt and I'm sure Raul would be happy if I had it because he knows how I am and how I think," the 25-year-old is quoted by the club's official website.

"Raul was always an important player to Real Madrid. He made the decision that best suited his interests. He is a great professional and I'm sure he will play at a very high level."

Rnaldo is also excited at the new season coming in just a few weeks. "We are very excited and working very hard. We have to keep this level of excitement up in order to win titles," he continued.

"Barcelona were more regular than us last year, but we are not worried about what they may do this season. I'm sure we will have a better run this year," Ronaldo went on.
