Millions of Manchester United fans around the globe were left in two minds yesterday, with the striker predicament that Sir Alex Ferguson confusing us all! Should Ruud stay in his place, or does Louis Saha deserve to be there on merit? Those who watched the game on Saturday know that Saha can do a good job, but is he really better than Van Nistelrooy?
Ronaldo was given another chance to shine, with his trickery against the slow and old West Brom full-backs causing problems throughout the match! At one point he managed to roll out of the way from two West Brom defenders with a clever back-hell flick that sent the ball between the two players, and he was able to re-collect the ball on the other side!
Ronaldo had a piece in the second goal, effectively killing the match off. Ronaldo and Giggs linked up well, and the Portuguese superstar rolled the abll into Saha's path on the edge of the box. The Frenchman took one touch and then sent the ball past Kuszczak for a fine finish.
The game had started slowly, with Man Utd failing to create much, and West Brom even threatening the most, with Campbell managing to out-jump Vidic on a number of occasions. But as soon as the first goal went in, with the run of play, United looked in control, and it was just a matter of how many.
The first was not quite as well crafted, with a corner drifted in. Saha managed to head the ball whilst moving backwards from all of 8 yards, and managed to clear the on-the-line defender with his effort for an easy first.
West Brom got a goal back through Ellington but never looke like taking anything home from the game.
