Not For Sale

Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale! Real or Barcelona are quite welcome to come in with bids for him, but Manchester United will turn them down point-blank.

This is despite the fact that Ronaldo himself has admitted he wants to move on because of the fact that no-one at the club stood up for him against the media.

Ferguson found himself in a difficult position - effectively having to choose between two players - Rooney or Ronaldo? - By saying nothing he thought it would mean he was supporting neither, but in effect it means he has fallen on the Scouse star's side.

United gave the following press statement:

"Manchester United has noted the increasing media speculation over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The club can confirm there is no possibility of Cristiano being sold. Cristiano recently signed a new contract until 2010 and the cub fully expects him to honour that contract.

"The club will not listen to any offers for Cristiano.

"Cristiano is one of the brightest young stars in world football as demonstrated by his performances at the World Cup and Manchester United is not in the business of selling their best young players."

Will he stay? WHo knows now! I hope so though - the media have blown everything out of proportion and vilfiied him for doing nothing other than protecting a team-mate and scoring a penalty!
