Ronaldo vs Messi
As the Champions League hype intensifies, the game has started to become a Ronaldo versus Messi contest, with the player who manages to do the most tricks and scintillating moves set to take home the Champs League trophy.
Players of both sides have come out in favour of their team-mates, with Sir Alex and Xavi disagreeing on which player is best.
Sir alex believe Ronaldo has the upper hand. "They're both good players. Ronaldo is stronger and older, but now Messi has started to develop himself physically. His upper body is much stronger now. When Ronaldo was 18, he had a fantastic profile as a footballer and an athlete and that's one of the main differences"
"But they're both fantastic players who can create and score goals, both of them. When great players get to that level, it's all about the small details. One of them could have an off-night on the night. Other than that, what can you say about such good players?"
Xavi was more forthright in his case for Messi. "Messi is the best player in the world by a distance, he's the No1. There is nobody at all like him. I don't want to compare him to anyone because it'll just damage the other player if I do. For me Messi is easily the best.
"All due respect to Ronaldo and all the other great players on the world stage but Messi is proving that he is better than Âeveryone else. The world can see that he's the boss. I've never seen anything like it. In a game, in the training sessions, never. I wouldn't swap him for any player."
