Cristiano Ronaldo wants to win more trophies with Juventus

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he has the ambition of winning more trophies with Juventus next term. The 34-year-old had an impressive debut season with the Bianconeri last term and he helped them secure an eighth straight Serie A title while contributing 28 goals across all competitions.

Speaking during his holiday in Madira, Ronaldo said that he is determined to have another successful campaign with the Bianconeri, he told: “I’m always ready. I want to have a good season – that’s always my goal. Year after year I want to do the best I can and win titles. I’m proud to come here. I’m here to be with my family. I’ll spend two days here and I hope everything goes well.”

The Bianconeri will work under a new head coach after the departure of Max Allegri after five seasons. His replacement Maurizio Sarri has already talked about the prospect of improving the goal tally of Ronaldo and reports have suggested that the manager had a fruitful meeting with the Nations League winner during a private holiday trip.

Juventus have dominated the proceedings when it comes to the Serie A but they have not quite met the expectations in Europe. However, they are making efforts to sort out the concern with the recruitment of the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot, who are capable of making regular contributions to the scoresheet from the heart of the defence.

Elsewhere, they are understood to be on the hunt for another centre-back with Giorgio Chiellini approaching the final stages of his professional career. Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has been earmarked as the prime candidate for the position, although talks are undergoing between the Italian and Dutch champions. Juventus start their pre-season tour during the backend of July with an International Champions Cup game against Tottenham.
