RONALDO LEADS GOLDEN BOOT RACE

Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has taken the lead once again in the Golden Boot race in the Italian Serie A after his brace in the last game, a 3-0 win at home to bottom team Crotone on Monday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo was able to respond to the challenge from major rival RomeluLukaku, who had taken the lead with his strike in the Milan Derby at the weekend. Cristiano Ronaldo and RomeluLukaku were tied on 16 goals apiece ahead of the weekend's set of games in the Italian Serie A.

Belgian international player Lukaku took his tally to 17 goals in the league with the opening goal of the game in the 3-0 thumping of city rivals AC Milan in the Milan Derby. Strike partner Lautaro Martinez was able to add two goals in the second half to the first half goal from RomeluLukaku to make it a comprehensive victory for the Nerazzuri over the Rossoneri. The result moved Inter Milan four points clear of former league leaders AC Milan at the summit. Lautaro Martinez now has 13 goals in the league and can't be underestimated in the race to win the Golden Boot Award.

Cristiano Ronaldo had to respond to RomeluLukaku and the Portuguese international did that in style. He scored twice in the first half against Crotone to set Juventus on their way to a much needed victory after the disappointment of losing to FC Porto in the Champions League.

Juventus produced a feeble display in the first leg of their last 16 tie with FC Porto and were rightly beaten 2-1 by the Portuguese champions. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal on 38 minutes before adding a second goal on the stroke of half-time.

American midfielder Weston McKennie added a third goal for Juventus in the second half . Cristiano Ronaldo now has 18 goals ahead of RomeluLukaku (17 goals), while the likes of Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, Atalanta striker Luis Muriel and AC Milan player Zlatan Ibrahimovicall have 14 goals each.
