GOLDEN BOOT: RONALDO REMAINS ON TOP

Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo is still the leading goalscorer at the Euro 2020 tournament despite bowing out at the round of 16 stage.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored fivegoals in four games before Portugal were knocked out of the tournament and no one has been able to match his tally till date.

Ronaldo scored twice in his first game at the Euro 2020 tournament as Portugal beat Hungary 3-0 to start the defence of their title on a winning note.

However, the win over Hungary turned out to be the only success recorded by defending champions Portugal at the tournament before they were knocked out by the Red Devils of Belgium. Borussia Dortmund star Raphael Guerriero scored the first goal for Portugal at the Euro 2020 tournament when he gave the holders the lead against the Hungarians with six minutes left on the clock.

Manchester United are interested in bringing Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club this summer according to the latest reports coming out of the Italian media.

The long-term future of Ronaldo at Italian Serie A giants Juventus is far from certain as he has one year left on his current deal with the club. When asked on his future at club level in a recent interview, Cristiano Ronaldo told reporters that his focus is on the ongoing Euro 2020 tournament.

Portuguese international teammate Bruno Fernandes is a key player for Manchester United and Ronaldo could link up with him at Old Trafford.

RONALDO WON'T SIGN FOR SPORTING - AGENT

Jorge Mendes has revealed that Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo won't return to his native Portugal to play for recently crowned league champions Sporting Lisbon. Mendes is the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo and according to him, the Portuguese national team captain won't be joining Sporting Lisbon.

Ronaldo came through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon beforehe made his professional debut at the club. He moved to Manchester United from the club in the summer of 2003.

Mendes spoke to the Daily Record about the possibility of his client signing for Sporting Lisbon this summer. He said that Cristiano Ronaldo is proud of Sporting Lisbon and their achievement of winning the league title in the Portuguese top flight ahead of rivals Benfica and FC Porto before adding that the career path of the 36-year-old do not go through Portugal.

WHY RONALDO IS UNHAPPY AT JUVENTUS

The three-year union between Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo could end this summer with both parties seemingly suffering from the union.

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken yet another record after managing to get 758 goals in his career. The striker scored in the 4-1 victory over Udinese during the weekend. The Portuguese was able to come up with a brace in either side of half-time break.

As a result of these rules, Ronaldo has overtaken Pele in the all-time goalscoring charts. It was only a few weeks ago that the Brazil icon was overtaken by Lionel Messi. Now, he has been pushed down to the third spot after Ronaldo’s brace. It is still incredible that Ronaldo continues to break records at the age of 35.
